Modifications and technical characteristics of energy meters "Energomera"

Along with the well-known electricity meter "Mercury 201", the electric meter model "Energomera SE 101" is no less popular on the Russian market. This device belongs to the class of single-phase devices designed to measure the amount of consumed electrical energy according to a single-tariff scheme. The meter is mainly installed in private houses, apartments, office premises and country houses. CE 101 is an induction device where the current sensor is a shunt or a special transformer.

This model is not intended for installation outdoors without additional protection from snow, rain and other negative environmental factors. The device body, consisting of two halves, is made of high-quality plastic. They are fastened together with reliable screws. The electricity meter display is covered with transparent organic glass. The energy consumption meter "Energomera CE 101" is included in the state register of measuring instruments of the Russian Federation, so its use is completely legal.

Design features and modifications of the meter

The electrical circuit of the Energomera CE 101 meter is single-phase. The device is available in two versions: electronic and electromechanical. This significantly expands the areas of use of the device. The electronic version is equipped with a liquid crystal display, while the electromechanical version uses a drum-type display. The first option is not intended for outdoor installation, since the LCD screen is critical to low temperatures. The electromechanical display allows you to install this metering device outside the premises, provided that it is installed in a special protective box.

In addition to two versions of the electrical circuit of the CE 101 meter, with a drum and liquid crystal display, there are several modifications of this device in terms of external features and housing configuration.

  1. The drum display of the electric meter can have six (M6) or seven digits (M7). The most modern modification of the device is equipped with a seven-digit display. The digit on the right is highlighted with a red marker. These are fractions of kilowatts consumed and are not taken into account when taking readings. The numbers to the left of the red mark are taken into account when calculating the cost of consumed electricity. In liquid crystal indicators, the role of a red marker is played by a dot.

  2. The meter housing design has six modifications: R5, R5.1, S4, S6, S8 and S10. Models with the index R5 and R5.1 are designed for installation on DIN rails and have all the necessary design features for this. Modifications S6-S10 are mounted directly into the distribution panel or on the wall. Regardless of the design features of the case, any model of “Energomer CE 101” can be equipped with either a drum-type display, six or seven digits, or a liquid crystal indicator.

Each of the models of this meter is designed for use in specific conditions. Devices mounted on DIN rails are mainly equipped in apartment buildings and private houses with built-in electrical panels. Modifications with direct mounting on a wall or in a panel are perfect for cottages and other objects where it is not possible to mount the device on DIN rails.

Seals and verification

Like any electricity meter, the Energomera SE 101 metering device is included in the state register of measuring instruments of the Russian Federation. It is approved for use in Russia. The device manufacturer installs the following two types of protection on the device.

  1. A metal seal on the outer cover of the device, blocking access to the device contacts. The sealing indicates that the device has been verified and can be installed in a power consumption monitoring system.
  2. Special holographic sticker with a high degree of protection. The hologram is installed by an employee of the quality control department of the manufacturer and indicates that the device has been tested for functionality and is suitable for use.

These security features are necessary to detect tampering with the device after shipment to the retailer. Currently, on the “black” market you can find CE 101 meters with a built-in electronic circuit to turn off the display. Naturally, the seals and holograms in this case are fake. The use of such devices can result in the imposition of huge fines on the consumer for theft of electricity.

Taking readings and checking meters

The Energomer metering device is designed to read readings according to one tariff. The liquid crystal screen simply displays information in a different form, but there is no way to program the device and maintain multi-tariff accounting.

The readings are taken from the device, discarding the last digit. Then the result is calculated, comparing with the previous recorded value and multiplying by the amount of the applied tariff.

Important! The display of a new device may contain readings that appear during verification of the electric meter under production conditions. The calculation of the first amount of consumer electricity consumption is based on this figure.

The manufacturer installs protective devices on electric meters:

  • a metal seal that indicates verification has been completed;
  • protective hologram.

The protection detects whether the device case was opened on the way from the factory to the consumer. Sometimes they offer to buy devices that have a built-in module that serves to stop the meter using a remote control. Specialists can easily find additional equipment on an electrical device, even if the fake hologram and seal are well forged. The owner of such a meter is subject to a large fine.

The operational life of the device is 30 years, secondary verification is carried out after 16 years, counting from the date of installation. Many electricity subscribers are attracted by the low price, an average of 700 rubles.

Operating principle of metering devices "Energomera CE 101"

The operating principle of CE 101 electricity meters is as follows: the input current and voltage are multiplied and converted into a frequency-modulated signal, proportional to the power of electricity consumption. When these pulses are summed electromechanically or using a microcontroller, the device produces a value of active energy consumed, with the data displayed on a drum or liquid crystal display. Depending on the modification, the device may have one or two current sensors.

Any model of “Energomer CE 101” is equipped with a special input test unit, designed to include the device in the system of automated control of electrical energy consumption, as well as to perform verification. Devices with liquid crystal indicators have non-volatile memory modules that allow you to save energy consumption values when the network is turned off or the LCD display fails.

Device service life and calibration interval

Technical characteristics of the Energomera CE101 electric meter
For Energomera electric meters, the service life is determined by the conditions under which they are constantly used. This indicator may differ significantly from the parameter specified by the manufacturer in the technical specifications (up to 30 years). This difference sometimes reaches half of the specified period.

After a certain period of time that has passed since the electricity meter was put into operation, the supplier’s service is obliged to carry out verification of the device. The calibration interval for devices of the CE 101 brand, for example, is set within the range from 8 to 16 years, depending on the year of manufacture. The specific figure is usually indicated by the manufacturer in the passport of the three-phase meter.

Modifications and technical characteristics

In this part of the article we will look at the modifications and technical characteristics of the Energomera CE 101 meters. As we said above, the device has six design options, but there are only three main ones, which should be discussed in more detail.

  1. Modification of electric meter CE 101-R5. Single-phase electrical energy meter operating on a single-tariff principle. The device is mounted on a standard DIN rail.

The device is used to continuously measure and display on the display the active component of the power of consumed electricity. The meter is connected to two-wire AC voltage supply lines.

Indication modes for CE 102 meters in S6 and R5 housings

To take readings on these models, press the mechanical or optical button with long presses (hold for more than 3 seconds) and view the information.

The first branch of values shows auxiliary parameters such as time, date, etc.

Group 2 - general readings for all tariffs To go to the next (2nd) navigation branch, press the [PRSM] button, the first value is the amount of current expenses (indicated by the letter T) according to the current tariffs (without the clock and hammer and screwdriver icons). By briefly pressing the button, you can also view the amount at the end of last month (1T), the day before last (2T) and finally 13 months ago (13T).

If we pay according to a single-tariff plan: To take readings, we need the first value with the T icon, write it down, if you pay according to one tariff, then the mission is completed, the readings are recorded, in order to calculate the amount for payment, we multiply the recorded number by the rate for 1 kilowatt/hour.

If we pay according to a two-tariff plan: group 3 - information on tariff 1 (day) If we pay according to day/night tariffs, then from the second group by long pressing the [PRSM] or [FRAME] button we move on to the next (3) branch of indicators - this is indicators for 1 tariff.

We see the first indicator with the icon T1 and kWh - this is the current total value of electricity consumption at tariff 1. We write down this value. Then, with short presses of the button, just like in the previous group, we can see the following values at tariff 1:

  • Expenses at the end of last month (1T1 icon)
  • Consumption at the end of the month before last (2T1 icon)
  • Consumption at the end of 13 months ago (icon 13T1).

Group 4 - information on tariff 2 (night) Let's move on to group of indicators (4) - these are consumption indicators for tariff 2.

The first value is the amount of total consumption at tariff 2 (T2 icon). We write down the value. As in the previous group, by short pressing the [PRSM] or [FRAME] button we can view the expenses for tariff 2

  • at the end of last month (1T2)
  • at the end of the month before last (2T2 icon)
  • at the end of 13 months ago (icon 13T2).

We calculate the amount to be paid

If you have a two-tariff payment system, you pay according to T1 values - expenses during the daytime. and the value T2 is expenses at night. To calculate the total amount of payment for electricity (light) 1) take the number T1 and multiply it by the rate for 1 kilowatt/hour during the daytime. 2) Take the number T2 and multiply it by the cost of 1 kilowatt/hour at night.
