Dependent hobs
This type of built-in hob is purchased together with the oven and is an integral part of this kit. Such hobs do not have their own controls and are controlled from a panel located on the oven body. The power connection of the dependent panel is carried out together with the oven through special contactors, which are clearly visible in the photo.
Read more about connecting the oven and panel to a common cable.
Example of a dependent photo panel
Connecting the cabinet + panel set to the power supply is carried out according to the general rules for connecting electric stoves, according to the diagram in the documentation. The power cable is connected to the oven block, and from it is connected to the hob block. The panel and cabinet are additionally connected by a control cable, which is included in the kit and has a connection block.

What criteria should you focus on when choosing a hob?
The choice of hob must be made based on individual needs, taste preferences and kitchen design features.
When choosing a gas or combined surface with gas burners, you need to take into account whether gas communications are connected to the house. Otherwise, you will have to think about purchasing an additional gas cylinder. It is worth paying attention to the presence of additional functions on the gas surface that will make operation more convenient and safer:
- gas control, eliminating the possibility of leakage;
- electric ignition;
- re-ignition, automatically triggered if the flame accidentally goes out;
- child protection, allowing you to block the operation of the panel if necessary;
- timer.
When choosing an electric or combined panel, you need to decide on the surface: will it have convex burners or will it be perfectly flat. In the second case, you will have to take care of purchasing the appropriate utensils. Not every pan is suitable for a glass or glass-ceramic surface: utensils whose bottom is not perfectly flat will have to be excluded. If the burners are induction, a mandatory requirement for the cookware is that it has special ferromagnetic properties.
Cookware that is suitable for use on induction hobs is specially marked
Some electrical panel models are also equipped with a number of additional features that are worth paying attention to:
- possibility of increasing the heating zone;
- auto-boil;
- Standby mode;
- timer, etc.
From an economical point of view, it makes sense to consider an induction hob.
Regardless of the operating principle of the panel, you need to pay attention to the way it is controlled. It is appropriate to note that the sensory one benefits from its ease of care. This can be said about the entire panel as a whole: a flat surface is much easier to clean.
The shape and size of the hob should be selected taking into account the dimensions of the surface selected for subsequent installation. Appearance - taking into account the design features of the kitchen. The number of burners will depend on the number of family members and the amount of cooking in general. Based on food preferences, it is worth considering the advisability of purchasing a dependent hob.
Hob burners
The burners are the main element of the panel, which performs the task of heating the dishes installed on it. On sale you can find hobs with several types of heating elements of the burners:
- tape,
- spiral,
- rapid,
- halogen,
- induction
The external design of the burners can be open (burners in the form of “pancakes”) and closed (ceramic or glass panels).

Hob MAUNFELD MGHG 32 15B The stove is made of high-quality materials, the fittings are expensive, steel. The glass is good. So far there are no comments on the work. I'm happy with the electric ignition. True, there is no gas at the dacha yet, so I had to connect a gas cylinder. The gas control function saves the day. I forgot to add, I was very pleased with the creative cast iron grates. Of course, it’s not much, but it’s nice. The stove is worth its considerable price.

Electronicsdeluxe hob Advantages: Price, heating time, appearance. Disadvantages: put anything on the sensor and one of the burners will turn on, and turn it off in 8 clicks. The edge of the pan will hit any button and will squeak and swear, but the worst thing is that the touch buttons are triggered by everything. Comment: The price is the best, everything heats up quickly and is controlled, but the touch buttons work even on metal and any garbage, and turn off from 9 to 0 only after 8 presses. I'm happy because I installed it myself and didn't need a lot of money.

Electric panels with heating elements
The heating element (spiral) is the most “ancient” and known for its cheapness panel heating element. Because of their resemblance to pancakes, such burners are called “pancake” burners. The spiral of such a burner is covered with a cast iron or steel stand and such a burner is characterized by a long heating time and a long time.
This panel is controlled by mechanical regulators, rotary type. The control knobs are located on the panel body. In terms of price, these panels are the cheapest.
Gas stove safety
According to modern standards, each slab must have leakage protection. The mechanism works very simply - it cuts off the gas supply to the burner when the flame accidentally goes out . A gold/copper sensor protruding next to the torch is heated by the torch flame. When the sensor stops heating and the knob is not set to zero, the gas supply to the burner stops.
Most plates also have a magneto - there is no risk of burns when lighting with matches or a lighter.
Several more expensive models have a child lock, either electronic or mechanical.
Hobs with rapid elements (ceramics)
Panels with rapid elements are the correct name for panels that quickly heat up and cool down. Fast heating is provided by heating elements in the form of nichrome spirals. Warm-up time for rapid elements is 10 seconds.
Note: A distinctive feature of rapid and tape burners is high starting currents, which affects the choice of circuit breakers for the hob.
Induction hobs
Induction hobs have induction burners, which is positioned as modern, aesthetic, safe, and economical. This is true, however, you need to remember:
- An induction hob does not heat on its own. It's safe, you can safely throw a towel on it, nothing will catch fire. However, such panels require special dishes, which will be heated in the invisible rays of induction currents.

- In addition, the induction panel has a built-in fan, which complicates its installation in the countertop. Under the panel, behind the panel cabinet and in front of the panel and countertop, you need to leave tricky ventilation gaps, without which the fan will fail and the panel will stop working.
- Another subjective disadvantage of the induction panel is the difficulty of control, due to the lack of verbal contact.
It is worth noting that induction panels are only available in the form of a glass-ceramic panel.
Advantages and disadvantages of different types of panels
All types of panels have certain advantages and disadvantages relative to each other:
- gas panels are cheaper to operate, and electric ones are safer;
- combined panels are a guarantee of stability in case of gas or electricity interruptions;
- panels with halogen burners facilitate faster cooking;
- panels with metal burners with electric spirals retain heat longer and tend to “finish” the dish even after the burner is turned off;
- induction panels are safer from the point of view of injury than other types of electric and gas panels;
- of all types of electrical panels, induction panels are the most economical;
- panels with mechanical controls are more reliable, while those with touch controls are easier to clean and aesthetically more attractive;
- independent panels are more practical in terms of placement, and dependent panels diversify the menu with baked dishes.
Speaking about the disadvantages, first of all we should mention the explosiveness of gas, which means the unsafety of gas panels. The downside of all hobs is their relative high cost. And the more modern and modernized the surface, the higher its cost.
