When you get out of the bath, you definitely want to feel the warmth in your heels, not the coldness of the tiles. You can give yourself such pleasure with the help of a knitted rug. But I will describe in detail how to do this in this article.

Thanks to the colorful colors, such a rug will always bring positive notes into your life, and the soft texture will give special comfort and pleasure to your feet. The mat consists of polyethylene or nylon threads, which makes it moisture resistant.
So, for knitting you need to prepare polyethylene or nylon threads with hook No. 4.
The size of the finished product will be 40 cm by 65 cm.
Knitting will take place on a fillet mesh, which serves as the basis of the rug, so we’ll do it first. We select the strongest threads and knit them, as shown in diagram 1. Then, when the mesh is ready, we move on to knitting the rug itself. Figure 2 will show you how to do this. You should start from the middle and work towards the edges in circular rows, changing the color of the thread in each row. Each side of the square should be tied with 1 to 3 double crochets. The number of columns depends on the mesh, as well as the thickness of the thread.
The resulting product is immediately ready for use.
What to choose
The choice of pattern and technique depends on skill, availability of free time, and also on the size of the bathroom. For a spacious room, you can take a complex, beautiful pattern of cotton cord.
For a small room, it is better to limit yourself to a simple path or a small “owl”.
A crocheted rug will warm your feet and massage your feet after each bath, and in the morning it will provide you with energy for the whole day. This accessory is suitable for an interior in a classic, rustic or Scandinavian style. You can make it for your home or as a gift to your loved ones.

Surely many of us have a huge amount of plastic bags accumulated at home, which we then throw away in whole bags. Now they can be given a new life - beautiful and useful. From these packages we can knit a bathroom rug. In addition to its attractive appearance, it is soft, pleasant, practical and easy to care for. This product is moisture resistant. Thanks to the loose knitting, the moisture accumulated underneath quickly evaporates. Cleaning it is very simple - just apply detergent, rinse with a stream of shower and leave to dry on the edge of the bath. The mat is lightweight, does not slip on the floor and is quite wear-resistant.
What do we need to prepare to knit this wonderful product? Plastic bags with a hook No. 3.5-4, as well as scissors or a stationery knife.
The bags need to be cut into strips of 3.5 - 4 cm. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the stronger the bag, the easier it is to cut such narrow strips from it. If you follow the diagram below, the rug will turn out to be openwork, and if you need a tighter knitting, then you should do all the double crochets.
We will knit the motifs first, and then combine them into a single product.
We start with the core of the flower. We make 1 large air loop and then continue, as shown in the diagram.
If the motifs do not match in size due to different thicknesses of the packages, the motif must be tied in a circle with a half-crochet or single crochet.
Selection of yarn for knitting
Bathroom rugs are knitted from abrasion-resistant fibers. Acrylic is best. Natural compounds should not be used, as they will quickly dry out and lose their shape. You can take cotton, but you need to add synthetic thread to it so that it does not stretch.
A good option is to knit a carpet from knitted yarn. Products made from it are dense and textured, and are pleasant to walk on. You can make it yourself from old T-shirts by cutting them into narrow strips.
To speed up the knitting process, you need to choose thick threads, at least 100 m per 100 g. Their consumption will be high, but you can knit the product in 2-3 days. If you take a thin skein, it will take much longer to make (depending on speed and skill level).
The knitted yarn for the rug should be thick.
Very beautiful crocheted owl shaped bathroom rugs
Thinking about how to surprise your guests? Creating an original interior for a room or kitchen is not very difficult, but what to do with a bathroom or toilet? The charming owl in the form of a rug will certainly not leave anyone indifferent. You will have to work hard to knit it, but the result will exceed all the time and labor costs.
To work you should prepare:
- 180 m of Barocco Decore grass yarn, with 65% cotton and 35% polyester;
- 1 skein of yellow and 1 skein of coffee-colored Barocco cotton yarn, 1 skein of black Apolo Eco (85% cotton) with hook number 4.
We will knit each part of the owl separately, as the diagram shows, and then connect all the parts.
Let's start with the body. We cast on 18 air loops + 3 lifting loops. We continue knitting according to pattern 1, in which the red color is grass yarn, and the black color is brown melange.
Let's move on to the eyes and head. We cast on a chain of 6 chain stitches, close it into a ring and knit each eye separately, as diagram 2 shows. Then we tie the eyes together and continue knitting the head according to the same pattern.
Beak. Take a black thread and cast on 4 chain stitches. Then we knit 7 double crochets into the 4th loop from the hook, after which we continue knitting according to pattern 3.
All that remains is to tie the legs and connect all the elements. To do this, we attach a thread to the body of the owl, knit as the diagram shows with 4 single crochets and convex stitches with 2 crochets, which need to be knitted deep into the body for 2 rows.
Straighten the knitting and place it on the bathroom floor.
Small hexagonal crochet rug
These rugs are ideal for a small bathroom. They take up little space, but still fully perform their functions. For the set, you can also knit a mat and a napkin for the toilet.
Before you start working, you need to prepare medium-thick yarn (leftovers will do) with hook number 3. We will knit the motifs first, and then combine them into a whole product. How to do this is shown in the diagram.
Lay out the finished motifs on a flat surface, fold the edges as shown in the picture, then sew them together.
To decorate the center of the rug, knit a flower according to the pattern and sew it to the product.
Before use, moisten the mat, straighten it and let it dry.
Knitted toilet mat for the bathroom
When the bathroom is combined, there is also a toilet in the bathroom, which also requires a rug. Therefore, I suggest you link it as well.
To work, you need to prepare 100 g of white “Lily” cotton yarn, 100 g of the same yarn, but green, as well as hook No. 4.
Please note that when knitting the thread must be folded in half.
We cast on 42 chain stitches and knit 7 double crochets in green in the first row, then 7 double crochets in white and so on, alternating colors every 7 stitches. You should get 6 stripes. We start the second row with white. We make 6 double crochets, then change the color and knit 7 double crochets. We finish row 1 with a white double crochet. Next we knit according to the pattern.
After the 22nd row, we tie the square around the perimeter with green double crochets. Before cutting the thread, we cast on 12 air loops.
Now we perform the binding in white. Fasten the thread in the adjacent corner from the additional chain and knit 12 chain loops + 3 lifting loops.
We move on to tying with green thread. Under each arc of 2 air loops we knit 6 double crochets. In the second row we make 6 double crochets with a common top, and between them – 7 chain stitches. Third row - under each arc we knit 3 double crochets, 2 picots from 3 chain loops, 3 double crochets. Above the bunch of 6 stitches, make 2 double crochets with a common top.

Children prefer their own rooms with appropriate furnishings - everything should be bright and fabulous. Therefore, the task of parents is to take into account every little detail. If you previously did not take care of purchasing furniture or textiles for the children's room with appropriate prints, then today you can easily correct the situation:
- First, buy curtains with a child's pattern for your child's room.
- Secondly, replace the existing dark blanket on the bed with a bright children's option.
- Third, tie the rug! But not a simple one, but a special one - in the form of an animal.
Do you think knitting rugs in the shape of animals is a difficult task? Not at all - here only circles, ovals, squares, hexagons, rectangles and other individually connected figures are correctly assembled into a single composition

For example, you can see how to knit a simple rug in the shape of a bear:
- tie the bear's face - a simple circle of a suitable size in a gray shade;
- bear ears - 2 semicircles of white and gray;
- the bear's nose is a white circle, and the triangle is cut out of black suede (later it will be sewn on);
- bear cheeks – 2 circles of pink shade;
- eyelashes - 2 suede parts, which are also later sewn on in the designated places.
