There are many models of lamps on the domestic LED market. Most of them promise high luminous flux rates. In reality, more than half have overestimated characteristics. Two models of Armstrong LED ceiling lights are participating in testing. We will measure the actual characteristics of the luminous flux, color temperature, and power. Characteristics
ISVET office LED luminaires have 4 lines with LEDs, UPL102 has 180 LEDs, UPL102 has 112 LEDs. All diode lines are connected in series, due to this the input voltage is high and the current is low. For example, the UPL103 has a power supply of 360 milliamps and a voltage of 90 volts.

The samples are equipped with “crushed ice” diffusers. Unlike matte diffusers, “crushed ice” provides light transmittance 2-3 times higher.
The case of the samples from the ISVET company is made of thin steel, the total thickness is 20mm. This allows you to install Armstrong lamps not only in a built-in way, but also in an overhead way.
General information
The Armstrong lamp is a lighting device made in the standard size of a standard ceiling module. The only difference is the thickness and weight, forcing the installation of additional hangers to prevent sagging of the system. The body of the Armstrong lamp has a thickness corresponding to the size of the lamps installed in it. The front side of the lamps is covered with a transparent corrugated plate - a diffuser. It protects devices from dust, makes the flow of light more even and soft.
The diffuser for the Armstrong lamp can be manufactured with different surface patterns:
- Prism.
- Microprism.
- Opal.
- Crushed ice.
The choice of one or another type of diffuser is determined by the specifics of the room, ceiling height, purpose and other criteria. Matte plates transmit only 70% of the luminous flux, lighting polystyrene provides up to 85%, and the record holders are plexiglass diffusers with a prismatic or microprismatic surface relief - up to 90% of the luminous flux.
Installation of lamps in the Armstrong suspended ceiling is carried out in a regular cell window instead of a module, so the whole task consists of preliminary laying the wire and connecting it to the device. As a result, a continuous canvas with a single level appears, only instead of a cell with a module, a lamp appears.
Attention! In addition to built-in ones, there are overhead models of lamps that are mounted not flush with the plane of the suspended ceiling, but on an overlay. This design option is convenient if the Armstrong system canvas is installed close to the ceiling slab and the gap between them does not allow installing another type of lamp.
The devices perfectly illuminate the room and create light of a certain color range. Installation of Armstrong lamps is carried out according to a certain scheme, which allows creating a sufficient level of illumination in the room, but without using too many devices. In order to ensure sanitary standards, it is necessary to calculate the number of lamps in advance, based on regulatory requirements and the type of lamps. Light flow
To measure the luminous flux, a photometric cube was used, designed to measure Armstrong LED ceiling lamps. Dimensions 60x60x60 cm. The samples were preheated for 1 hour.

The luminous flux of UPL102 turned out to be 420 lumens higher than that declared by the manufacturer, which is 11%. The light flux pulsation coefficient is 1%, that is, there is no pulsation at all. The power supply handles the load well.
Technical features
Before buying a modern Armstrong LED ceiling lamp, it is important to pay attention to a number of technical features. These are several profiles that together form a single structure. In most cases, they have standard dimensions of 60*60cm, which is comparable to the dimensions of ceiling cells. As a rule, laid communications are hidden under them. Installation of LEDs using special profiles in the form of a lattice and attached to the frame using modern technology.
Colorful temperature
Color temperature measurements are carried out using a UPRtek MK350 spectrometer. The measurement results are slightly lower than stated. If we take into account the permissible error in production and the error of the measuring device, the result is very close to the declared one.
