General information about the system

The system is designed to automate the control of external (street) lighting and includes a full set of technical means for control, monitoring, and documenting operating parameters.

The external lighting control system provides the ability to control the process in automatic, manual and remote modes.

The system allows you to save energy due to the guaranteed implementation of specified modes and the use of evening and night modes of street lighting in accordance with the current calendar time of sunrise and sunset.

The system automatically turns off external lighting lines in case of violation of the parameters that determine safe operation.

Information about violations of the operating mode of outdoor lighting lines is transmitted via a GSM channel to the central control center, as well as to the mobile phone of the responsible subscriber.

The system implements a wide range of service capabilities, including: storing information about the reason for turning off the external street lighting lines and the nature of the accident.

The control center software displays the current situation on a mimic diagram, creates an event log and provides the ability to print reports for a selected period of time, and also allows you to adjust the calendar time of sunrise and sunset.

The outdoor lighting control system provides the ability to control lighting lines without the intervention of maintenance personnel.

Compound

The external (street) lighting control system consists of server and client parts:

  • The server part of the system is a personal computer of the central control center with specialized software, some peripherals and a GSM modem. More details>>>
  • The client part of the system is the lighting control cabinet (SHAU NO-01 or SHAU NO-02), which includes a microprocessor module, a GSM modem, power equipment and, if necessary, an electricity meter and other elements depending on the modification.

Main functions

The system provides the following functions:

  • automatic (by calendar) or manual control of outdoor lighting lines.
  • remote control of outdoor lighting from a control center and/or mobile phone via SMS messages.
  • calculation of electrical energy consumption in the presence of a meter with an RS-485 output.
  • prompt notification to the dispatcher in the event of an emergency situation at the facility.
  • documenting system operating parameters.

Control

The external lighting control cabinet provides automatic (according to the calendar) and manual control of external lighting lines. SHAU NO also provides processing of lighting control commands and adjustments to the lighting on/off schedule from the control center.

The outdoor lighting control cabinet supports several telephone numbers from which control commands can be sent.

To connect numbers to the system, they must be written down in the telephone directory on a SIM card, which is installed in the modem of the control cabinet.

As a rule, one of them is the number of the SIM card installed in the modem with which the control center program works. External lighting control using the program is carried out using its interface. This is the most effective, reliable and convenient way of remote control.

If at any time the management of the CDP program tools is not available, the work can be carried out using a regular mobile phone. To do this, you need to send an SMS message to the object with the text START - to start, STOP - to stop. To request the current status, you must make a call. In response to any action, a response SMS message is sent, which contains information about the current state of the external lighting line.

ACS structure. Lighting automation

The system is a distributed multi-level complex of technical means.

The control center of the system is a server computer with an installed SCADA system, which ensures control and operation of the system in accordance with a given algorithm. SCADA allows you to connect client workstations via an Ethernet network or via the Internet (Web control) and via a GSM network. As client workstations, regular office computers on the Windows 2000/XP platform already available at the workstations can be used, on which a special software package is installed; if this is Web control, then Internet Explorer is sufficient. Thanks to OPC technology, the lighting control system can be easily integrated into the customer’s overall process control system.

The computer of the control room or client workstation allows you to visualize the operation of the complex in the form of a set of mnemonic diagrams, virtual controls and a system of interlocks and alarms. Thanks to the use of SCADA, the dispatcher can easily configure lighting control algorithms based on the needs at the current time, the only limitation is the customer’s imagination. Control signals for the lower level of the complex can be transmitted via telephone, GSM or radio modems.

A controller cabinet is installed directly next to the existing switching devices, which serves to receive commands from the dispatch computer, process them and supply a control signal to the switching equipment. In addition, the control cabinet equipment monitors the position of switching devices, receives and processes information from electricity meters, ensures autonomous operation of the device according to a local schedule stored in non-volatile memory in the event of loss of communication with the upper level, analyzes the number of burning lamps based on current consumption and generates an alarm.
