How to connect a switch with a backlight indicator

Illuminated toggle switch:

A toggle switch is basically a miniature mechanical switch or switch. It is used almost everywhere where electrical switching is required (control circuits in electronic and mechanical devices and devices). A very convenient type of toggle switches, often used in electronics, is a backlit toggle switch. Such a device not only connects and breaks a circuit, but also has a light bulb inside it that serves as an indicator of the supply of voltage to the circuit, Figure No. 1.

How to connect a 4-pin toggle switch with backlight?

Any electrical circuit begins with the fact that it is necessary to provide the required power for it. To make many devices convenient and reliable, they use backlit toggle switches. The task of this mechanism is extremely simple - turn on, turn off or switch something. In our article we will describe the most typical case of correct installation and connection of a backlit toggle switch. A toggle switch is an electrical element that controls the flow of electrical energy through a circuit by means of a mechanical lever that is manually operated.

Connecting an illuminated toggle switch to the network:

Illuminated toggle switches are connected using car convectors or by soldering wires to their terminals, but this is not the most difficult thing and is probably known to everyone. But many novice radio amateurs often do not know which side to approach the backlit toggle switch from and how to turn it on correctly.

Firstly, you just need to look in the reference book for the type and purpose of the pins of your toggle switch. Secondly, it is enough to simply ring your toggle switch with a tester to understand what is what and how it opens and switches.

After you have figured out which pin is responsible for what, the main thing is to correctly connect the toggle switch to your circuit (Figure No. 2).

Figure No. 2 – Correct connection of the backlit toggle switch to the power supply (soldering iron, for example)

As can be seen from Figure No. 2, the toggle switch is turned on in such a way as to break the phase wire, and so that when the circuit is switched (the contact is closed), its internal illumination lights up.

PS: I tried to clearly show and describe non-tricky tips. I hope that at least something is useful to you. But this is not everything that can be imagined, so go ahead and study the site https://bip-mip.com/

  1. Reusable plaster moldIf you need to make several identical plaster figurines.
  2. Booster, current amplifier When designing various electronic devices, a radio amateur sometimes needs one or the other.

I present to your attention a review of a rather rare product for Muska - a button with locking and backlight. It’s surprising to me that there are so few reviews here for something so cool and worthy of any DIY project.

I can’t promise many technical details (and where would they come from), but I’ll tell you about my impressions in detail. Well, let's begin
